Alena Pankratava is a journalist, non-fiction author, and recipient of the 2014 Human Rights Award.
Political persecution:
On 22 April 2025, a court in Minsk convicted her for participating in the 2020 post-election protests under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (participation in group actions that grossly violate public order). She was sentenced to two years of restricted freedom in home confinement.

Home confinement.
