Alena Pankratava is a journalist, non-fiction author, and recipient of the 2014 Human Rights Award.
On 22 April 2025, a court in Minsk convicted her for participating in the 2020 post-election protests under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (participation in group actions that grossly violate public order). She was sentenced to restricted freedom in home confinement.
