
Political Persecution:
Aleh Chamienka was detained in Minsk on 25 June. A criminal case was opened against him for cooperating with an independent Belarusian media outlet, which is designated as an “extremist formation”. He is currently held in Pre-trial Detention Centre No. 1.
On 9 July 2025, human rights defenders recognised him as a political prisoner.
