On January 9, 2023, it came to light that Ivan (Jan) Marozaŭ had been arrested. The authorities resented his participation in the 2020 protests and making a joke that he attacked Belarusian special forces with HIMARS systems, “but, unfortunately, he does not keep such a thing in his garage.”
Recognized as a political prisoner on February 6, 2023.
On April 28, 2023, the Pieršamajski District Court issued a decision in his criminal case. Sentence – 1.5 years of imprisonment in a low-security penal colony. Ivan (Jan) Marozaŭ was convicted under part 1 of Art. 342 of the Criminal Code (organization or active participation in group actions that grossly violate public order) for participating in peaceful protests against the falsification of election results in 2020.
He was serving his sentence in PC No. 17.
