The author of texts for Naša historyja and Arche magazines, worked at the Palace of Children and Youth in Minsk. He managed the board game club Kromverk and was among the organizers of the board game festival Junikon.

On September 15, 2021, Andrej Akuška’s apartment was searched, and he was arrested as a suspect in participation in “destructive telegram channels.”

On September 16, 2021, Andrej Akuška was tried under Act. 19.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (minor hooliganism). Due to a high fever, he was released from the court to the clinic, but while he was waiting in line suspecting covid infection, he was approached by militia officers who asked him to come with them. Andrej Akuška was not released, the trial resulted in 13 days of administrative arrest.

On December 28, 2021, Andrej Akuška was arrested and charged under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code (insulting a representative of the authorities) and Art. 368 of the Criminal Code (insulting the President of the Republic of Belarus).

Sentenced to 2.5 years in a low-security penal colony.

On March 22, 2022, he was recognized as a political prisoner.

Since October 28, 2022, he has been on the list of “extremists.”
