According to the information in the media, the true reason was his mailing the book <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Belarusian National Idea<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by <\/span><b>Zmicier \u0141uka\u0161uk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which was recognized as extremist. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The case of <\/span><b>Eduard Pal\u010dys<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was sent to court. <\/span><b>Eduard <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a political prisoner, political blogger and activist, detained in October 2020 and accused of \u201corganizing riots\u201d, \u201cactions that grossly violate public order\u201d, \u201cactions aimed at inciting other social hostility\u201d and \u201ccalls for action, aimed at harming the national security of the Republic of Belarus\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9494\" style=\"width: 340px\"  class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9494 size-gallery-thumbnails-small\" src=\"https:\/\/penbelarus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/1.-fyodar-nya-varta-e1637579486907-340x240.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"240\" \/ loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fiodar \u010caranko\u016d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Fiodar \u010caranko\u016d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, vocalist of the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nia Varta<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> band, was sentenced to 5 days in jail for following a media account recognized as extremist. During the trial, <\/span><b>\u010caranko\u016d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">managed to shout that he had to sleep on wooden bunks without a mattress and use rolls of toilet paper instead of a pillow for the past few days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Singer <\/span><b>Alexander Patlis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was invited to perform at the Philharmonic at a concert in memory of Uladzimir Mulavin, a famous Belarusian musician. However, a few days ago Alexander learned that <\/span><b>he had been expelled from the program for \u201cpolitical reasons\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Kry\u015bcina Ba\u0161arymava<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an artist and actionist, was detained for following channels deemed extremist in Belarus. A \u201crepentant video\u201d with the woman appeared in pro-government telegram channels. She is known to have been released on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9495\" style=\"width: 340px\"  class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9495 size-gallery-thumbnails-small\" src=\"https:\/\/penbelarus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/1-shymansk\u0438-e1637579451731-340x240.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"240\" \/ loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Zmicier \u0160ymanski<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Zmicier \u0160ymanski<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, bagpiper sentenced to 3 years in an open air prison under the article \u201corganization and participation in actions that grossly violate public order\u201d for playing the bagpipe during the peaceful rally on August 16, 2020, <\/span><b>managed to leave Belarus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. He is in Warsaw now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Barys Chamajda<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a cultural activist who has been promoting Belarusian culture right on the streets since the 1980s, was detained in Viciebsk. In the past, <\/span><b>Barys <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">workplace, the so-called \u201cIsland of Freedom\u201d, was decorated with a white-red-white umbrella and vy\u0161yvankas (traditional embroidered clothing), rallies were held there and the independent press was distributed. This week the police confiscated his books in Belarusian to check them for \u201cextremism\u201d. He faces up to five years in prison for \u201cprinting unregistered newspapers, stickers, and protest leaflets\u201d. Shortly before his arrest, he released <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/3ZyNVaDrk3dv87mLCteD1P\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noindex noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">two singles<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but did not even have time to announce them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Ale\u015b Pu\u0161kin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a politically imprisoned artist, sent a new series of drawings called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cellmates <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from jail. It later became known that <\/span><b>Ale\u015b <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">had been sent for a psychiatric examination.
