Political persecution:<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

U\u0142adzimir Mackievi\u010d was arrested on August 4, 2021, and since then he has been behind bars. Initially, he was held in the detention center on vulica Akrescina, then in Pre-trial Detention Center No. 1 in Minsk, and, following his sentence, in various prisons across Belarus.<\/span><\/p>\n

Philosopher U\u0142adzimir Mackievi\u010d was charged with Art. 342 (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order or active participation in them).<\/span><\/p>\n

On August 6, 2021, he was recognized as a political prisoner.<\/span><\/p>\n

On June 23, 2022, the philosopher-methodologist Uladzimir Matskevich was found guilty in the Minsk Regional Court behind during a closed session and sentenced to five years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony.<\/span><\/p>\n

In mid-July 2022, U\u0142adzimir was transferred from Pre-trial Detention Cente No. 1 to Prison No. 4, and in October – to PC No. 17 in \u0160KLO\u016c.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of October, the Ministry of Internal Affairs included him in the list of “extremists.”<\/span><\/p>\n

On February 13, 2023, U\u0142adzimir Mackievi\u010d\u2019s prison regime was tightened, and he was transferred from PC No. 17 to Prison No. 4 in Mahilio\u016d. This decision was made by the court, and place on February 13 on the territory of colony No. 17.<\/span><\/p>\n

U\u0142adzimir Mackievi\u010d<\/span> was released on September 11, 2025 and forced into exile.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Creative activity:<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

Founder and head of the Humanitarian Technologies Agency, founder of the Flying University. Participated in the creation of the “Charter’97” civil initiative, is the author of the text of the initiative’s<\/a> declaration. Regularly gave public lectures and speeches in 2020. Has been the host of the Razmova Dnia program on the Belsat television channel since 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n

Author of a large number of non-fiction articles and about 50 scientific works on philosophy, politics, culture and education transformation. Co-author of a series of books on issues of civil society, dialogue and values Belarus for Beginners<\/em> (2006-2009). Author of several video courses on philosophy and transformation of society.<\/span><\/p>\n
