He will not be able to appeal against the verdict.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>Siarhiej Vok\u0142a\u016d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/prisoners.spring96.org\/en\/person\/sjarhei-volkau\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noindex noopener\"><b>Siarhei Volkau<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">], an actor, was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment in a medium-security penal colony, charged in the case of mass riots (Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code) opened after the events of election night, August 9, 2020, in Pinsk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/prisoners.spring96.org\/en\/person\/danila-hanczarou\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noindex noopener\"><b>Dani\u0142a Han\u010daro\u016d<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [Danila Hancharou], lighting designer who was fired from the New Drama Theater for participating in the strike, on July 9 was sentenced to two years in a penal colony for participating in group actions that grossly violated public order (Part 1, Article 342 of the Criminal Code) and complicity in such\u00a0 crime (Part 6, Article 16, Part 1, Article 342 of the Criminal Code).<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7735\" style=\"width: 340px\"  class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7735 size-gallery-thumbnails-small\" src=\"https:\/\/penbelarus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/1_pavel-larchyk-340x240.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"240\" \/ loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pavie\u0142 \u0141ar\u010dyk<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>Pavie\u0142 \u0141ar\u010dyk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [Pavel Larchyk], musician, was sentenced to three years in a maximum security penal colony on allegations of violence against a police officer in September 2020, which wasn\u2019t proved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On July 8, Belarusian authorities <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Business\/wireStory\/belarus-government-blocks-top-media-outlet-detain-reporters-78729172\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noindex noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">blocked the website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of a leading online media outlet Na\u0161a Niva and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/baj.by\/en\/content\/authorities-block-nasa-nivas-website-arrest-its-editor-chief-updated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noindex noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">detained several of its journalists<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
