Three Belarusian-speaking professors are forced<\/a> to quit from Mahilo\u016d State University<\/b>,\u00a0they are Vital Je\u016dmia\u0144ko\u016d<\/b> [Vitaly Eumenkov], an associate professor of the Faculty of Slavic Philology and the Faculty of History and Philology, who\u00a0 in the fall of 2020 defended students under pressure for exercising their right to freedom of assembly, as well as Alaksandr Ahieje\u016d<\/b> [Ahieyeu] and Ihar \u0160arucha<\/b> [Sharuha].<\/span><\/p>\n

Anton Sasno\u016dski<\/b>, director of the event agency that organized the concert of the band Poshlaya Molly in Minsk, was fined 710 EUR for the crowd chanting “Long live Belarus!” during the concert.<\/span><\/p>\n

Natalia Dyrman<\/b>, a well-known cultural activist in the Brest region, was searched by security officers and detained. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ihnat Sidor\u010dyk<\/b><\/a> [Sidorchyk],\u00a0<\/span>a poet, director and actor, left for the open air prison settlement on June 13. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Belarusian Social Democratic Party<\/b> received an official warning from the Ministry of Justice for illustrations by famous designer Vladimir Tsessler published in the third issue of the party magazine “Position” <\/span><\/p>\n

Ministry of Justice<\/b> sent a letter demanding from PEN Belarus<\/b> to provide a complete set of bookkeeping since 2018. Ministry of Justice wants to conduct a routine check on the compliance of the organization’s activities with the legislation of Belarus and the statute of PEN Belarus.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ja\u016dhien Babak <\/b>[Yauhen Babak], a former assistant prosecutor of the Pershamaiski district court of Minsk, received 15 days of administrative arrest for hanging a white-red-white flag.<\/span><\/p>\n

Andrzej Poczobut<\/b> sent a letter to his family, he wrote that after he refused to be deported to Poland, the conditions of his detention in the prison deteriorated: he was transferred to another cell and has been subjected to constant checks and reports. On June 11, he reported to have caught Covid-19. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dissent and Cultural Activism <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Iryna Svirid<\/b> is an artist, she sends hand-made drawings and paintings to political prisoners, and also teaches others, including children, how to support prisoners.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Nobel laureate, Belarusian writer <\/span>Svetlana Alexievich<\/b> has donated a signed copy of her book “Secondhand Time” to a<\/span> <\/b>charity auction<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Belarusian women held a <\/span>performative action<\/b> Decolletage for Belarus to draw attention to the problem of businesses cooperating with the regime.<\/span><\/p>\n

Victory Artists<\/b>: the music project Partyzanski praspekt<\/b>,\u00a0which was formed in July 2020 as a reaction to the Belarusian reality, played<\/a> in support of Siarhiej Vo\u0142ka\u016d, imprisoned actor and director. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
