Viktar Ta\u016dhie\u0144<\/b> from Ma\u0142adzie\u010dna, who was holding a speaker at a local rally on August 9, was sentenced<\/a> to 2 years in prison on February 22.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Zaryna \u0160a\u016dko<\/b> from the band Luty Taler was detained<\/a><\/span>\u00a0on February 22 and although there was no proof of her participating in any mass event, she was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest. <\/span><\/p>\n

Alaksandr Vasilevi\u010d<\/b>, co-founder of Minsk \u040e Gallery and media platforms The Village Belarus and KYKY, has been remanded in custody for another 2 months.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"On February 25, the first ten defendants<\/a> for the \u201ckarahod\u201d protest were announced in Brest.\u00a0Maryna H\u0142azava<\/b> and Jaras\u0142a\u016d Jara\u0161uk<\/b> were convicted to 1.5 years of \u201chome imprisonment\u201d, Maryna Sirecan<\/b> \u2013 1 year of \u201chome imprisonment\u201d. Mika\u0142aj Fiedarenka<\/b>, Ja\u016dhien Ka\u016dpa\u010dyk<\/b>, Alaksiej Jakubuk<\/b>, Viktar Dzienisienka<\/b>, Vital Litvin<\/b> received 1.5 years of restricted freedom in an open correctional facility, Maksim Maksim \u017dara\u016d<\/b> and Vadzim Varanovi\u010d<\/b> \u2013 2 years of restricted freedom in an open correctional facility. The case was opened under Part 1 of Art. 342 of the Criminal Code and involves about 50 people.

Dzianis Zajan\u010de\u016dski <\/b>and <\/span>Maksim Ta\u0107janok<\/b> were sentenced<\/a> to <\/span>\u00a03 years of imprisonment in an open correctional facility for an installation with photos of\u00a0 Natallia Kachanava, head of the upper chamber of Belarus parliament, and Ivan Kubrako\u016d, Interior Minister.<\/span><\/p>\n

14 pensioners<\/b> were detained<\/a> on February 26 at several railway stations in Minsk. The ladies read Belarusian books on the train, it was an action in support of the Belarusian language.\u00a0<\/span>A 75-year-old Natallia Ivanisava was fined 231 EUR and released.<\/span> On March 1, some of them were fined: Alena Za\u015bcien\u010dyk \u2013 554 EUR,\u00a0 Aksana Karatova, Lubo\u016d Ku\u010dynskaja, Sviat\u0142ana \u0141aziebnikava, Nina Nie\u015bciarovi\u010d, Iryna Novik, Ta\u0107ciana \u0160ymanskaja \u2013 277 EUR. A 66-year-old Halina Huliankova was sentenced to 20 days of administrative arrest.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pressure, Dismissal, Ban<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Six paintings out of fifty-six were removed<\/a> from Nazdia Buka’s exhibition <\/b>“Personal Business” in Hrodna, as they contained a combination of white and red colors. \"\"<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Anatol Kachan\u010dyk<\/b>, who painted the facade of his house white-red-white and spent 7 days in prison for that, was fired<\/a> from the railway where he had worked for 38 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The number of punishments for white-red-white symbols is increasing week after week.\u00a0<\/span>Some of the most alarming cases are those when the system puts pressure on children. The <\/span>Mieljaniec family<\/b> with many children has been threatened<\/a> with the status of socially unreliable for the white-red-white blinds on the windows.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ihar Kra\u016d\u010denia<\/b>, a resident of Homel who spent 28 days in the Buda-Ka\u0161alo\u016d pre-trial detention center for a photo with a white-red-white flag under a Christmas tree, went on a hunger strike<\/a> for the whole term of 28 days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

23 days for two<\/a>, fines and confiscated goods worth 28000 BYN [8854 EUR],\u00a0<\/span>this is how the owners of the store “Moj Rodny Kut”, selling goods with national symbols, have been punished. <\/span><\/p>\n

887 Belarusian historians sent a letter in defense of the white-red-white flag to the Prosecutor General, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.<\/span>
