{"id":11968,"date":"2025-11-30T09:51:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-30T09:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/penbelarus.org\/?p=11968"},"modified":"2025-12-31T13:15:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T13:15:12","slug":"zmiczer-bayarovich-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/penbelarus.org\/en\/2025\/11\/30\/zmiczer-bayarovich-2.html","title":{"rendered":"Zmicier Bajarovi\u010d (finished serving \u201chome confinement\u201d in November 2025)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><strong>Political persecution:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>On March 14, 2023, Zmicier Bajarovi\u010d and his wife Valeryja Bajarovi\u010d were arrested in Minsk near the entrance of their house.<\/p>\n<p>He was held in Pre-trial Detention Center No. 8 in \u017dodzina.<\/p>\n<p>Consideration of the criminal case of Zmicier Bajarovi\u010d began on July 19, 2023, in the Leninski District Court in Minsk, he was convicted on the basis of Art. 342 of the Criminal Code (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order or active participation in them) \u2013 for participation in peaceful protests in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>On July 20, 2023, Leninski District Court in Minsk issued a decision on the criminal case of Zmicier Bajarovi\u010d and Valeryja Bajarovi\u010d \u2013 3 years of detention each without being sent to an open-type correctional facility (home confinement).<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Creative activity:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Author of poems and prose collection &#8220;Shali&#8221; (2012).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Zmicier Bajarovi\u010d had worked for the state TV channel STV but resigned in 2020 to express opposition to the Belarusian authorities\u2019 violence against participants of peaceful protests.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2025, Zmicier Bajarovi\u010d finished serving a three-year sentence of \u201chome confinement.\u201d<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Publications:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Zmicier Bajarovi\u010d. <em data-start=\"95\" data-end=\"102\">Shali<\/em>.
